June 2024

Our June newsletter is full of good news and community spirit! We celebrated a successful quality audit, enjoyed a fun day out at the Cairns Aquarium, and joined in the excitement of Yarrabah Foundation Day and the State of Origin. Congratulations to Sandra Smith, our Employee of the Month, and a big thank-you to nurse Stephanie for her wonderful contribution during her time with us.

May 2024

Fantastic news this month - Mutkin secured $2.6 million in government funding for major upgrades to our kitchen, residential living areas and plumbing. We had fun with singing and karaoke sessions (even MP guests joined!), enjoyed an outing to the Pamagirri Rainforestation Nature Park, and celebrated residents’ milestones - including a big win for resident Munroe Yantumba who got his driver’s licence back! Shout-out to Esmay Murgha, our Employee of the Month, for her stellar work coordinating community outings and NDIS plans.

April 2024

A big month at Mutkin Residential & Community Aged Care! Staff completed key training (including chainsaw and machinery operations) and worked with the Service Development Assistance Panel (SDAP) to improve our services. Residents enjoyed an outing to Babinda Boulders, and grounds and facilities got a refresh with fresh paint and garden maintenance. Congratulations to Moira Murgha for being our Employee of the Month!
